FAQ
HOW CAN ACUPUNCTURE HELP MANAGE MY PAIN?
Acupuncture is shown to be helpful managing injuries and treating pain because when the acupoints are stimulated, the body releases endorphins, the body's natural pain-killing chemical, and by affecting the part of the brain that governs serotonin, a brain chemical involved with mood.
We also use trigger point acupuncture techniques in our clinic, which is using direct manipulation on the painful knots in the muscles. The needle stimulates the muscle to release the tension that it's holding. The goal is to cause the muscle or group of muscles causing the muscle to twitch, which typically leads to an immediate relief of pain and tightness.
WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?
Acupuncture is a practice in Traditional Chinese Medicine that originated thousands of years ago.
According to Chinese Medicine, ailments in the body are caused by blockages within the meridians, disturbance in the flow of energies (qi) and imbalance of yin and yang in one's body.

Acupuncturists insert thin needles into acupuncture points along the meridians to stimulate qi and blood flow in body, to balance the body's hormones and promote relaxation.
Acupuncture needles stimulate the bloodstream to release endorphins and enkephalins to have you feeling relaxed and in turn, also helps balance your hormones in general. Acupuncture brings the body to a parasympathetic state (rest and digest mode)
